ICETT Visited by Two Chinese Lecturers from Mie University

On June 17 (Mon.), ICETT was visited by Tatsuo Ito, a professor emeritus at Mie University, and two Chinese lecturers at the Center for International Education and Research of the university. They listened to explanations on the activities and programs of ICETT and the Yokkaichi pollution, while touring the ICETT facilities.

In 1986 Mie Prefecture established a friendly relationship with Henan, a Chinese province, and in 1980 Yokkaichi became a sister city of Tianjin. ICETT, commissioned by Mie and Yokkaichi, has every year carried out training courses for participants from the province and the city. In its past programs both in and outside Japan, ICETT has received more participants from China than from any other country.

(As of the end of March 2013, 524 out of 2,330 were Chinese participants in programs in Japan. 1,679 out of 5,357 were Chinese in overseas programs)

The two lecturers, who both have a good command of the Japanese language, listened with great interest to an explanation of the ICETT training programs, which was followed by a question-and-answer session in Japanese.
