Contents | ICETT held a course for 15 young Indonesians, who are expected to play a role in developing the future of their country, to learn about Japanese experiences and technology regarding urban waste management through lectures and visits to relevant sites. The participants also enjoyed the tea ceremony and wearing traditional Japanese kimonos to get in touch with Japanese culture. |

Contents | This course is implemented as part of the Project for Total Emission Control of Nitrogen Oxide in China, a technical cooperation project conducted by JICA. The course provides opportunities to visit relevant sites and listen to lectures to comprehensively learn about examples of efforts for fixed-waste-source measures, made by Japanese local governments, businesses, and research institutes, thus helping determine policies to introduce NOx emission control technology into Chinese cities targeted for this project. |

Contents | ICETT invites three officials from the Environmental Protection Agency of Henan Province, a sister province of Mie Prefecture, to a training course in Japan, and contributes to the promotion of environmental protection policies there. The course offers the participants an opportunity to learn about the Japanese legal systems and measures regarding environmental conservation and industrial pollution control, and to increase their knowledge of pollution control technologies, thereby helping enhance their skills to draw up and implement such policies back in their country. The environmental pollution control and improvement is featured this fiscal year, including measures taken by companies and pollution dispute handling. |
