FY2010 Yokkaichi-Commissioned Training Course Closes on Soil Pollution Control for Officials from the Environment Protection Bureau of Tianjin, China

ICETT held a fiscal year 2010 Yokkaichi-commissioned training course on soil pollution control for officials from the Environment Protection Bureau of Tianjin, China. We would like to express our gratitude to the lecturers and those from companies for the cordial support and cooperation.

There were on-site visits as well as lectures by environment-related specialists. The course was intended to have the participants enhance the skills necessary to draw up and implement policies back in their country by learning about the activities and efforts in soil pollution control made by Japanese local governments and companies, Japanese survey methods, and restoration technologies to control soil pollution.
During the training, the participants helped each other in many cases and received favorable comments from the lecturers since they showed a great respect for them and had many questions to ask enthusiastically.
At the end of the course, they made presentations of their reports regarding policies and methods to be introduced in Tianjin. They left on the 18th with great determination to make the most of their experiences in Japan after returning home.

About lectures and on-site visits

Japanese companies are highly aware of the importance of environmental conservation, while having a strong sense of social responsibilities. The participants are satisfied with rather interactive lectures, including vigorous exchanges of opinions, questions and answers. There is a willingness among them to take full advantage of what they learned in the course to control soil pollution in Tianjin.
