Participant Recruitment for the 2026 Global Environment Workshop for High School Students

 

 Yokkaichi City recruits high school students in Yokkaichi City for the 2026 Global Environment Workshop.
If you wish to apply,please submit the required documents to Yokkaichi City Environmental Policy Division by Friday, June 12, 2026.

 The purpose of the Global Environment Workshop for High School Students is to deepen mutual understanding among high school students from Tianjin, China, Yokkaichi's friendship city, and Long Beach, USA, Yokkaichi's sister city, through training and exchange of opinions with high school students in Yokkaichi City. The program also aims to promote environmental conservation activities in Tianjin, Long Beach, and Yokkaichi.


1. Details of this project

 (1) Lectures on environmental issues (this year's theme: Toward the realization of a recycling-oriented society: Creating a town where everyone can continue to live together)
 (2) Tours of environmental learning facilities and companies
 (3) International exchange through environmental issues (accommodation exchange)
 (4) Presentation of learning outcomes on environmental issues

Examples of Activities (High School Students' Global Environment School in Academic Year 2025. The details of the activities in 2025 are as followsthis way (direction close to the speaker or towards the speaker)(See Figure 1.)

The event will not only include lectures and tours, but also plenty of opportunities for participants to interact with each other!
Participants commented that "I learned a lot of new things in terms of the environment," and "It was a great experience to be in contact with live English, which is different from the English classes we learn at school.

2. Schedule of this project

 Tuesday, July 28 - Sunday, August 2, 2026
 *From Tuesday, July 28 to Saturday, August 1, participants will stay at ICETT with overseas high school students.


3. Location of the Project

 Main Venue and Accommodation: International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT)
          3684-11 Sakura-cho, Yokkaichi City


4. Participation fee

 Free of charge (including accommodation, meals, etc.)
 *Personal expenses during the period are to become a burden by each participant.


5. Number of applicants

 4 persons


6. Application period

 Friday, June 12, 2026

  • Photographs and videos that include the names of individual participants or portraits of applicants taken during the implementation of the project,
    The information may be used without individual consent for the purpose of recording or introducing our business.
