Procedures for CTI workshop in 2002

1 WORKSHOP EXPENSES

For participants from the selected Asian countries, the Japanese government will bear their following expenses:

  • (1) Round-trip expenses between the participant's home country and Japan, and transportation expenses between the arrival airport and ICETT.
    The discounted air fare cost (Economy Class) for designated home international flights shall be borne by ICETT. Tickets shall be delivered to the office of an airline in each country. Flight airfare will not be re-funded overseas and in Japan and flight will not be-rerouted and be-changed.
  • (2) Expenses during stay in Japan (accommodation, meal expenses, expenses for travel in Japan) for the duration of the CTI Energy Efficiency Workshop
    A daily allowance of Japanese Yen 2,500- shall be paid to each participant during his or her stay in Japan.
    All meals will be provided by ICETT or paid in cash in case of field visits.
  • (3) Expenses for medical treatment in Japan (if any); and
  • (4) Expenses for workshop materials and site-visits

The selected workshop attendance is free for a limited number of experts from Asian countries. For these persons, the workshop organisation will also cover the above-mentioned expenses. The selected participants are invited to apply for coverage of your costs together with your registration.

However, the other participants in the Asia Pacific countries will be charged a participation fee of JPY 120,000- for 14 days. This fee will cover workshop participation, accommodation in ICETT, 14 breakfast, lunches, dinner and all coffee breaks during the workshop, as well as the conference material and the site visit. This fee will NOT cover the airfare to Japan-Nagoya, the remunerations of any kind or daily allowances.

2 PARTICIPANT'S CONDITIONS:

Application Procedure

  • (1) All participants are requested to complete and submit an attached the ID Reference Data Form together with a copy of the identification section of their passport (usually the inside cover) not later than August 1, 2002.
  • (2) Three copies of a recent photograph measuring 3.5cm x 4.0 cm with the applicant's name printed on the back should be submitted together with the above two documents. The three includes one to be attached to the ID Reference Data Form.
  • (3) All participants are requested to submit a Medical Certificate (attached) not later than August 1, 2002.

3 ACCOMMODATION:

Rooms and facilities at ICETT will be made available to participants while they stay in Yokkaichi for workshop. Address: 3690-1 Sakura, Yokkaichi, Mie, 512-1211, JAPAN

4 REGULATIONS:

Participants are required:

  1. to strictly observe the workshop schedule,
  2. not to change workshop subjects or extend the workshop term,
  3. not to bring any member of their family,
  4. to return their home country directly at the end of their workshop according to the travel schedule designated by ICETT,
  5. to observe the rules and regulations of ICETT,
  6. to refrain from engaging in political activities or any form of employment for profit or gain,
  7. to discontinue the workshop, should he or she become seriously ill and be unable to continue the workshop; and
  8. to discontinue the workshop, should he or she commit illegal or immoral conduct.

5 PRE-DEPARTURE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Passport

Participants are requested to obtain a passport from their government well in advance of departure.

6 Visa

Before leaving their country, participants should obtain a "Tanki Taizai Visa" (short stay visa), which is issued by the Japanese diplomatic mission in the participant's country. Upon receiving their ID Reference Data Form and a copy of their passport, the Secretariat will send the following documents required for the visa application to each participant. The participants should then submit these documents to the Japanese diplomatic mission in their country. Since it is expected that Chinese residents will take much longer to obtain their visas, they are requested to submit the documents as soon as possible.

7 PRE-WORKSHOP TASKS

The Workshop Report should be typewritten using double spacing (MS-OFFICE97) on A-4 sized paper. Participants are kindly requested to attach relevant materials and data (if possible).
All participants are requested to complete and submit the workshop not later than August 1, 2002.

      Describe the future prospects of energy saving, green productivity / cleaner production and environmental issues
      (air/water pollution control and waste disposal) as it relates to your job.
