Pre-departure Instructions

For selected participants will follow the pre-deprature instructions:

1. Passport

Participants are requested to obtain a passport from their government well in advance of departure.

2. Visa

Before leaving their country, participants should obtain a "Tanki Taizai Visa" (short stay visa), which is issued by the Japanese diplomatic mission in the participant's country. Upon receiving their ID Reference Data Form and a copy of their passport, the Secretariat will send the following documents required for the visa application to each participant. The participants should then submit these documents to the Japanese diplomatic mission in their country. Since it is expected that Chinese residents will take much longer to obtain their visas, they are requested to submit the documents as soon as possible.

For selected partipants, the Workshop Report should be typewritten using double spacing (MS-OFFICE97) on A-4 sized paper. Participants are kindly requested to attach relevant materials and data (if possible).
All participants are requested to complete and submit the workshop not later than September 10, 2002.

      Describe the present situation of energy saving and pollution control technology in your workplace.

      Describe major factors and difficulties in activities to improve the situation at your workplace
      During this workshop,
      - we will consider the prospects for actition programmes, including initial action programme; short-term action programme and long-term action programme.
      - we will examine the importance of human resource development and its technology transfer among countries.
    • 3-4. Future Prospects (1 Page)
      Describe the future prospects of energy saving, green productivity / cleaner production and environmental issues (air/water pollution control and waste disposal) as it relates to your job.
