[Call for the Participants] The 2nd ICETT Resource Circulation Seminar in FY 2025 "Product Design for Improved Recyclability: Now and Beyond" will be held (at the venue and online).

Background of the Project
International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT) has been holding the ICETT Resource Circulation Seminar since fiscal year 2024 to share information with companies and organizations in the Chubu area and other regions to help them promote their resource recycling efforts, given the growing importance of promoting "resource circulation" as efforts toward a circular economy become more active worldwide. The ICETT Resource Circulation Seminar has been held since FY2024 with the aim of contributing to the promotion of resource recycling efforts by companies and organizations, mainly in the Chubu region, through the sharing of information to companies and organizations.
From FY 2024, four seminars were held on the themes of "Resource Recycling of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste (e-waste) in ASEAN," "Resource Recycling of Automobiles," "Resource Recycling of Textiles," and "Toward a New Stage of e-waste Resource Recycling," in order to think about resource recycling together.
The second ICETT Resource Circulation Seminar in FY2025 will be held focusing on, "Product Design for Improved Recyclability," a common issue that transcends industries and product types.
Contents of the seminar
Background and Objectives
In order to improve the recyclability of products, environmentally conscious design that is aware of resource recycling has been emphasized at a point in time the product planning and design stage. In recent years, various industries have been promoting the use of recycled materials and designs based on the premise of disassembly and reuse. This trend is expected to accelerate further with the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation that came into effect last year at EU and Revised Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources that will come into effect next year in Japan.
This seminar will share cross-industry knowledge on the theme of product design that contributes to resource recycling, and provide a venue for companies and others to explore the possibility of applying this knowledge to other fields as well as to use it as a reference for future initiatives.
