2015 Mie Kids Eco Fair Held

The event is designed for children living in Mie Prefecture to learn about nature and the environment through amusing practical experiences and displays. It also provides the children with an opportunity to develop an interest in or awareness of the immediate nature and environment around them. ICETT has participated in this eco event since fiscal 2000, thus the Year 2015 marks the 16th anniversary.

On July 18 (Sat.) and 19 (Sun.), the annual 2015 Mie Kids Eco Fair was organized in the Suzuka Foothills Research Park where ICETT is located. ICETT took advantage of its markedly international characteristics to offer an opportunity for children and their parents to answer quizzes regarding the world and the environment and learn together about the environment in different parts of the world.

Dinosaur craft kits and souvenirs from different countries attracted attention from the visitors. Besides these exhibits, ICETT also displayed plastic clips for food bags which the families appeared to like very much, thereby encouraging them to answer questionnaires and quizzes concerning the environment and national flags. According to the questionnaires, respondents left positive comments on the whole event. More than 50% of the visitors had also attended this event before. ICETT is not well known to local residents but received more visitors than it did the previous fiscal year.
