Self-imposed control with fluctuated area coverage.

Jun. 1964 - Apr. 1973

The control removed.

May. 1973 - Mar. 1975

The control resumed.

Apr. 1975 - Mar 1990*

Fishery prohibited (by Fishery Compensation Agreement signed by the Association and Kumamoto Prefecture, the executive organ of Pollution Control Program).

    The responsible body (=Chisso) purchase the designated species containing mercury exceeding the provisional standard to keep them out of the market.

    Self-control recommended on fishing activites as complete sepatation of the designated species was impossible.
