The 2nd ICETT Carbon Neutral Seminar in FY2025 "The Next Step in Energy Saving - Carbon Credits for Value-Creation from CO₂ Reductions-" will be held (at the venue and Online)

International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT) has been holding the ICETT Carbon Neutral Seminars to provide useful information with the aim of stimulating efforts to achieve Carbon Neutrality (CN) in Mie Prefecture and other parts of the Chubu region.
This seminar, titled "The Next Step after Energy Saving" will focus on carbon credits which market is expected to become even more active in the future, and will provide an opportunity for companies and local governments to consider how to create new value for their decarbonization efforts.

Seminar Objectives

In Japan, "carbon pricing," in which companies and others trade CO₂ emissions at a price, will be gradually institutionalized in the future in order to achieve CN emissions by 2050.
There is a growing trend to generate "carbon credits" representing the amount of CO₂ reduction through a company's efforts and trade them on the market. Especially for the manufacturing industry, energy-saving improvements that are closely related to business activities are likely to lead to the creation of credits. Therefore, the creation of carbon credits is attracting attention as a means of creating new value.
This seminar will focus on carbon credits that the market is expected to be more active and will share the latest trends in policy and examples of credit utilization with companies and local governments. The purpose is to promote the creation of carbon credits by businesses in the Chubu region, mainly in the manufacturing industry, and their efforts to achieve CN.
We will carefully explain the basics of carbon credits, so even those not having knowledge or in the consideration stage can participate. We look forward to your participation.
