The 3rd ICETT Carbon Neutral Seminar "Report on ICETT's Efforts to Transfer Carbon Neutral Technologies to ASEAN" was held on March 27, 2025 at the Audio Visual Room on the 4th floor of the Yokkaichi City Center for Promotion of Local Industry.
Background and Objectives
International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT) held a series of three seminars in FY2024 to introduce the current status of decarbonization initiatives in ASEAN countries to companies and others in the Chubu region, to increase their interest, and to connect them to business opportunities.
The seminar was held with the aim of providing participants with an understanding of ICETT's initiatives and those of the Chubu region to achieve carbon neutrality, and to discuss the promotion of carbon neutral projects.
Contents
Ms. Achiwa of the Carbon Neutrality Promotion Office, Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, gave a keynote speech introducing Japan's goals and policies to achieve carbon neutrality, and examples of initiatives in the Chubu region regarding hydrogen, ammonia, carbon recycling, energy conservation and renewable energy.
In ICETT's business report, the person in charge of each project reported on the projects in the Philippines and Thailand as part of ICETT's efforts in ASEAN.
Results and Prospects
This seminar was held in a hybrid format and was attended by a total of 39 participants, both on-site and online, from companies, governments, and research institutes, mainly in Mie and Aichi Prefectures. Based on the feedback received from the participants on our various projects, we will continue to promote efforts to achieve carbon neutrality in FY2025.
