As part of the JICA Cambodia Water Pollution Control Capacity Improvement Project implemented by Kensetsu Giken International Inc.
The seven trainees, who are officials of the Ministry of Environment of the Kingdom of Cambodia and officials of the Environmental Department of Phnom Penh, Kandal, and Kompong Speu provinces, are participating in a project to promote measures to improve the water environment in the Plectonot River Basin.
The training will focus on the Hokusei region of Mie Prefecture, and will cover Japan's water resources and water quality management systems (laws and ordinances), water purification and wastewater treatment processes, on-site inspection systems by the government, quality control initiatives for water quality testing and analysis, and Japan's experience with the roles and cooperation of the national, prefectural, and private sectors.
