Report】Mie Prefecture Hosted the FY2023 Recycling Industry Top Seminar
Summary
While plastic is widely used in products, containers, packaging, etc., the importance of resource recycling is increasing due to issues such as marine plastic waste and climate change, and Mie Prefecture is further promoting initiatives for the recycling use of plastic.
A seminar was held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, to introduce the current status of plastic recycling and case studies of companies taking the lead in plastic resource recycling to provide hints for businesses in recycling-related industries.

Following a greeting from the host, Mr. Nobuyuki Nakajima, Director, Resource Recycling Promotion Division, Environmental Coexistence Bureau, Environmental Living Department, Mie Prefecture, the three lecturers gave their presentations.
First, Mr. Hitoshi Tomita, General Manager, Public Relations and Learning Support Department, Japan Plastic Recycling and Reuse Association, introduced the current status of recycling and reuse of plastics and the movement in Japan. Mr. Goro Tamaki, Director and General Manager of Material Business Department, Refineverse Co. Lastly, Mr. Goro Tamaki, Director, General Manager, Materials Business Department, Mie Prefecture, introduced Mie Prefecture's efforts to promote resource recycling.
