Report】 "Recycling-Related Industry Top Seminar" in FY2022 hosted by Mie Prefecture

Summary

 In order to promote the recycling-related industries, the "Recycling-Related Industries Top Seminar" was held on January 25, 2023 (Wednesday) in a hybrid format for executives and managers of recycling-related industries in Mie Prefecture to introduce the latest trends in decarbonization and advanced initiatives of companies in the area of resource recycling.

 Mr. Hiroyuki Sato, Director of the Waste Management and Recycling Division, Waste Management Bureau, Department of Environment and Lifestyle, Mie Prefecture, the host of the seminar, introduced the initiatives being promoted by Mie Prefecture (human resource development for management and personnel in charge, DX, etc.) and this seminar, which is being held for the first time, as an opportunity to promote industry and the movement toward decarbonization in recycling-related industries that are essential as social infrastructure. He also introduced the first seminar to be held in Mie Prefecture.

 Mr. Ryosuke Muraoka, Special Counselor, Japan Environmental Sanitation Center, gave a presentation on global warming initiatives and the latest trends toward decarbonization in the waste sector. Mr. Junichiro Kayama, Representative Director of Kayama Kogyo Co., Ltd. gave a presentation on the process of decarbonization efforts, the difficulties encountered, what was gained, and the resulting changes in external evaluations and business partners, based on specific examples.
