Subject:
Prevention of acid dust falling down from stack
1. Purpose
Acid dust falling down from the stack of the boiler for blown steam at a distillation column is to be prevented.
2. Current status
Actual measurement of O2 content in flue gas was 1.5% for a once-through boiler and 3.0% for a fire tube boiler.
1) Gas suction duct got dirty when measuring O2 content.
2) There are 2 units of once-through boilers which are operating with low O2 concentration and 1 unit of fire tube boiler which is operating with extremely high O2 concentration. This operating environment tends to produce more dust.
3) Because C heavy oil is used, we can see that acid dust is falling down from the stack and thus the stack seems to be extremely dirty.
3. Actions
By injecting addition agent (calcium hydroxide power or ammonium) to fuel for neutralization, PH which is currently low will be improved and then acid dust will tend to get easy to adhere to the wall surface. Consequently acid dust can be prevented from falling down.
4. Effect
It is expected to prevent acid dust from falling down from the stack.
