1. Purpose
To make effective use of H2S generated in the petroleum refining process by causing it to react under the existence of catalyst.
2. Details and the Time of Improvement
Generate SO2 by partial combustion of H2S in the sulfur recovery unit and recover the liquid sulfur by causing it to react with the catalyst. ( Nov., 1968 )
Convert the tail gas in the sulfur recovery unit to H2S with tail gas treating process, and return to the sulfur recovery unit and reprocess it. ( April, 1978 )
