CTI Workshop on Energy Efficiency for Asian Countries, 2004

18 - 27 October, 2004
Yokkaichi city, JAPAN

  • (1) Purpose
    International Center for Environmental Technology Transfer (ICETT) is pleased to announce the opening of the Climate Technology Initiative Workshop on Energy Efficiency for Asian Countries, to be held from 18 to 27 October, 2004 in Yokkaichi city, Japan. It is designed to enhance the participants’ understanding and appreciation of international efforts for greenhouse gas emission reduction and sustainable development, and strengthen their commitment to better efficiency of energy use in industrial sector.
    The workshop invites authorities from the national government, industrial association or other concerned organizations in Asian countries, who have a broad perspective of policies and responses to improve energy efficiency at the national level. It will examine the important components to make progress on better efficiency of energy use and seek to explore their significance and implication on a country’s capability to enhance energy efficiency.
  • (2) Overall Objectives
    The overall objectives of the workshop are for the participants to:
    • 1) have better understanding about the international initiatives and efforts on GHG emission reduction and sustainable development,
    • 2) share information on energy issues and policies in the participants’ countries,
    • 3) obtain information on policies and technologies for energy efficiency in the Asian countries,
    • 4) exchange views and opinions on the specific topics among the participants, and
    • 5) discuss a way of promoting energy efficiency in industry.
