Leaflet - back

This energy efficiency and cleaner production seminar has presented an important opportunity for people from several countries and disparate backgrounds to work and learn together to develop the themes of enhanced resource efficiency.

The aims of sustainable development will be speeded up through such enhanced capacity building, where we learn from and with each other. The workshop has provided a forum to exchange technical, social, cultural and economic concepts and methods. The important inputs from the different participants have contributed to helping create technology transfer and growth opportunities for the region.

Energy efficiency and cleaner production ideas and strategies cross borders and all nations can benefit from each other's technologies, successes and failures.

Moreover, one of the most important but effective measures to support developing countries is "capacity building".When not a small number of engineers, managers and government officials are confident that they are sure to achieve their own sustainable development, capacity building will be given shape.

This workshop provided the participants with opportunities to watch, listen and learn about available technologies and about managing systems in reality, which they are able to use in their own cleaner production and in achieving higher efficiency in energy utilization, resulting in the participants' confidence toward the future.

Through tough discussions, they found that they are already eager to compete with each other in a challenging spirit, sharing their experiences with each other and keeping friendship bscause they are aware of the importance of cleaner production and higher efficiency, being the keys to the sustainable development.
