FY2015 Japan-Taiwan Collaboration Project by Interchange Association, Japan

Environmental Business Matching Meeting Took Place in Taiwan

  • Date: October 13 (Tues.) to 16 (Fri.), 2015
  • Theme: Recovery and recycling of valuable resources from industrial and domestic waste, wastewater treatment, and water purification
  • Participating Japanese companies: 10

The needs of the Taiwanese businesses were matched to the environmental technology and knowhow of the Japanese companies, based on advance surveys. The meeting program was arranged accordingly, resulting in an informative event with substantial benefits for all.

The event was attended by 17 representatives from ten Japanese companies and 36 delegates from 25 Taiwanese companies. The total number of business meetings amounted to 65, a great success for this event. 43 proposals are currently under negotiation, with good prospects for the completion of contracts.

This was the second matching event held in Taiwan. It appears that environmental business between Japanese and Taiwanese companies has assumed more substantial aspects, particularly with a view to contract conclusion, than at the first event. Some Japanese companies followed up by visiting a Taiwanese factory to see the current conditions of environment-related facilities and to actively learn more about the environmental situation in Taiwan.

These circumstances indicate that more business promotion can be expected in the future in Taiwan. ICETT intends to continue its important role as a supporter with more follow-up activities.
