Environmental Business Matching Event Held in Thailand

On November 21, 2013, an environmental business matching event was held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre in Thailand as part of the Business Matching Project between Thailand and Mie, Japan, in the Field of Water-related Environment, commissioned by the Mie prefectural government. Six Japanese companies participated in this event on sewage and wastewater disposal, environmental and water treatment equipment, industrial wastewater treatment, public water supply and sewerage maintenance, and sludge reduction. It was also attended by eleven Thai companies and organizations. Many individual meetings took place between the Japanese and Thai companies.

The next day, Mie delegation members including ICETT visited a water treatment facility in Bangkok and a ray tanner in an industrial park in the Samut Prakan area to the south of Bangkok, learning about the current situation of wastewater disposal in the leather tanning industry in the area.

This project is expected to become one of the model cases for Japanese environmental technology to be introduced into Thailand in the future.
