Taiwan Seminar Held

On March 15, 2013, ICETT held a Mie prefectural government-commissioned Taiwan business seminar, “Expansion of Business Opportunities through Japanese and Taiwanese Industries Partnership”, jointly with the Yokkaichi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The seminar intended to provide useful information for Japanese companies as a first step for them to start business in Taiwan. Taiwan attracts great attention from Japanese companies as a pro-Japan business partner and as a gateway to China and Southeast Asia.

The seminar was attended by more than 50 members of companies and business support organizations.

At the seminar, Deputy Representative Yu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan delivered a lecture on the merits of business with Taiwan and support programs provided by the Taiwanese government. Another lecture was given by President Tsuji of Emulsion Technology Co., Ltd., who explained the pros and cons of doing business in Taiwan based on his experiences in launching plant operations there. In addition, ICETT presented the current situation and the future needs for environmental measures learned from a survey conducted by ICETT in Taiwan earlier in March. 台湾セミナー 台湾セミナー

The participants made many positive comments. One participant said he learned in the seminar how effective a partnership with Taiwan can be in getting involved in business in China and other Asian countries. Another participant acquired a lot of information, for example about the tax systems in China and Taiwan and successful examples of alliances between Japan and Taiwan, which will be useful in cooperating with Taiwanese companies in the future.

ICETT just started making efforts to support Japanese companies in their business abroad but would like to help strengthen ties between Japanese and Taiwanese companies, as well as those of other countries, to contribute to the expansion of environmental business.

We would like to express our gratitude to those who attended the seminar for their cooperation.
