On February 21, 2013 (Thur.), a seminar for Environmental Business Activation was held. It was to promote the database of products and technology available at environmental businesses in the Chubu region, central Japan, which was the result of a survey on the industrial pollution control of small and medium-sized businesses contracted by Chubu Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. It was also to help promote partnership among companies to activate environmental business in the future.
The seminar exceeded the expected number of participants, who showed a great deal of interest in environmental business in the Chubu region of Japan.
At the seminar, a survey on environmental business was reported and the possibility of future action to expand environmental business was also set forth. In addition, sample cases of business through coordination between local companies were presented, in addition to others of overseas business expansion, including that of a consulting firm specializing in water disposal, which works on technological development through workshops with small and medium-sized businesses to seek partnerships with them.
The seminar was followed by an exchange program to provide specific business opportunities where 28 out of 30 companies, listed on 'Environmentally Superior Technology and Products in Chubu Central Region of Japan', set up their booths to vigorously exchange information with user companies such as trading and consulting firms and general contractors.
We would like to express our gratitude to those who attended and cooperated in our program.(Ozaki)
